Apple launched a free download yesterday of the Beauty Meter. The idea being that you can download pics of yourself and people can vote on how hot or otherwise you are.

Within hours of its release it was pulled down 'cos teen girls posted semi-naked shots of themselves. Huge hoo-haa over the fact that teens were allowed to post semi-pornographic shots of themselves. No hoo-haa around the actual concept of encouraging girls to rate their friends or frenemies???!!!

What the??? Serious skewed moral high ground here. With bullying rife, especially among teen girls to which this is so obviously aimed, let's give girls more tools to bully. Or, let's give girls more ways to be judged on their looks. Or how about, let's give girls yet more ways to feel bad about themselves. Seriously, some of these marketers should have their photos put up so we can all rate them and see how they feel. So, so wrong and girls lets not support this kind of crap!
